Why do there have to be such mean spirited people out there that come in and ruin dog forums...they all seem to find each one and than try to ruin it....I have never met so many of them and the lies that they tell amaze me....decided to stay away from them and let them eat each other and leave the good people alone.

You have any opinions please let me know...they all are like vampires and seems to come out of the woodwork....BEWARE.

Removing Sticky Stuff from Your Yorkie’s Coat

I promise to stay away from the paint mommy!

TODAY’S TIDBIT: It’s springtime and everybody wants to get outside and fix up their lawns and houses! People are bringing out the paint to repair winter’s wrath. Driveways are being resurfaced. We’re taking our Yorkies for longer walks on the city sidewalks. Why is it that Yorkies’ coats seem to me magnets for all this “sticky stuff?”

Here are a few “undesirable” substances our Yorkies have encountered and what we’ve done for “damage control”:

Tree sap: Almost hardens right away and makes a tangled mess. You can try and wash it out and then rub a little mink oil on the hair while you’re brushing your Yorkie’s coat.

Paint: If your dog isn’t going into the show ring, just let the paint wear out. A few baths over time should do the trick. NEVER use paint remover or solvent on your Yorkie! It’s poisonous if ingested by your dog and will really irritate their skin.

Tar: Cutting it out is your best bet. If the dog has a lot of tar in his coat, try rubbing the tar with petroleum jelly and wiping it off with a rag. Watch your Yorkie to make sure he doesn’t eat the tar.

Gum: It’s disgusting when people discard their chewed up gum on the sidewalk! Try rubbing the gum with ice cubes and then cutting it out. Be careful not to let your Yorkie eat the gum because it could get lodged in her throat.

To make life easier for you and your Yorkie, make sure the hair between and around the paddy paws is clipped away so if they do walk in some “junk” off the ground it won’t get stuck between the pads.

It snowed all day yesterday but was preceded by sleet...so ice underneath it all...but how can something that treacherous be that beautiful....it truly is a winter wonderland....

the only problem is even with a path cleared for the furry 6....we have to push them out the back door....boy they come back in quick....

I'm not a big fan of reality shows...but boy do I enjoy watching and listening to real life dramas.

Right now I am in the middle of watching someone unravel her entire life...piece by piece and it couldn't have happened to a nicer person...she has hurt so many people and continued to do this for years by doing puppymills, cheating on her husband, stealing money from her friends and forum people, lying, claiming to be a christian and so much more and than along came my friend...

and because of my friends' knowledge, contacts and just plain smarts she has stopped this drama and the "survivors" or "followers" cold in their tracks....

I love it...no show can match watching this on a daily basis and watching how each one plays at "world's dumbest"....

will share the whole details when this totally unravels...it is so funny!

It has sex, humor, drama, fraud, lying, cheating, stealing and did I say lying? And the best part is...there are some good guys with white hats that will finally put an end to it all and end this life of drama and crime. Stay turned for the next episode...

This isn't one of our picture but more of this is heading in Thursday and this weekend. The sad thing is with all the cuts on jobs and city positions...we don't have enough people to spread the sand and clear the streets for us this time...this should be great....not only are we cutting back on police and fireman but now the city workers...way to go mayor....great choices...did you cut your salary too....

Trying to get everything done today and tomorrow before all this hits but it is so cold out there .... will try to get pics of my own snow this time...it was so overwhelming with all the snow and the drifts the last time....most of it all has just now melted and now this.........good thing I have hubby and the 6 furries to hug and keep warm with me....hey maybe that isn't so bad after all....

We have 3 1/2 weeks and this year the policy at work changed for hubby...he no longer can cash in the vacation time....so that means we have to take the trips....

NO MORE FACEBOOK! TOO MANY VIRUSES

Got rid of my facebook account...had to spend a bunch to fix it this week..guess what the cause of all the viruses was.......yep.........FACEBOOK....so it is gone...figure there are enough other ways to get ahold of me and when facebook even warns about their own viruses than it is time to stop....

We have so many other forms of communication that I can not afford to have a program like that on my computer or phone again....No way~ No More~

My computer runs so much faster now that they are all gone and even removed YM...it made my computer slow and now I feel like I have a brand new computer....how cool....

BUT
The one down side is that the furs have to watch me on the computer more now since it is like a new computer...I love it!!!

THINK IT WILL AFFECT THEM? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

Bathed 6 furbabies this morning

Well, it was long overdue and much needed but with the amount of snow and how cold our weather was here....I had been hesitant to bathe the furry 6.....

Always start out by taking their collars off, undressing them and the 2 that wear bellybands I take that off...and guess what 2 of the 6 disappeared....we have a little house that they hide in when we are playing chase and when they go into it....we can't touch them...we pretend we can't find them and they are safe.

...except on bath day....the top of the roof comes off and I can still grab them....

Got all of the 6 bathed and ended up thoroughly soaked myself. All of mine are small and can fit into my kitchen's double sink...so I bathe and Fred towel dries...and when we put each one down...we move quickly out of the way.........why?

Because they are mad that they were bathed and we watch out for the others around whoever is put down...because they take it out on each other....too funny....

They now smell and look fabulous and are dressed and ready to go....they have their weekly Starbucks outing on Sunday's so they know what day of the week this is...

How amazing that they recognize words and actions and know that we are going to Starbucks....will get pics of them when we are out tomorrow...........

DRAMA ON FORUMS

Why does there have to be so much drama at forums....that has perplexed me for some time...is it because there are so many dissatisfied woman who have nothing better to do than go to a forum and cause trouble...or have an unhappy home life?
the ideal situation is to do a blog and than someone can't be jealous of you, or tell you that you have bad ideas or not like someone just because they are more popular than they are.....women! strange breed!

Why can't women put their big girl panties on and grow up.......
saw tons of friends drop out of sites this last year and this year...not because they wanted to but because someone was jealous of them and reacted.............how very sad to say that is a part of the forum nature..........Better off without them or have them closed down...
already saw three either close or close to closing down and one more more almost there...WoW! And why won't women stop their gossiping and let it go...grab their big girl panties......and move on...life offers so much more...
BUT IT IS ENTERTAINING AND FUN TO WATCH THEM SPIN THEIR WHEELS....REALLY FUNNY AND THAN TO KNOW WHAT REALLY IS HAPPENING! LOVE IT!

Santa visited the 6 furries

On one of the coldest days of our year...Santa made his visit at the Dog Dish here in our hometown.....thank goodness we were the first in line to sit on Santa's lap. The first 4 had their picture taken while we were unloading the other two, the whole time, Scooter the one on the far right, was crying for his mama (just like a baby) and the others were not taking their eyes off of mama. They were not too much more confident of this guy that had let two of them slide down in his lap last year and than let the elf snap the picture as two were totally hidden in Santa's lap.
As soon as the picture was snapped (outside of course) we packed the 6 back into the stroller and headed home. Although the last picture is from Thanksgiving...they all came home and still collapsed on the couch.... that jolly ol' man was more than they want to see again for quite awhile.
Who knows, maybe next year if the charm...at least Fred and I got in the picture to help out this year and wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

OK...here he is...This is Scotty...the precious rescue that was thrown over the fence at the part and abandoned by his owner. Absolutely nothing wrong with him. He is an angel and the first one that has ever gone to Fred first. He so fits in with the others and is so mellow. He's 4-5 yrs. old and the biggest of the bunch, he's 7.5 lbs. and a true lover. All he wants to do is just fit in, be loved...which he has tons of and be family. Think he knows we loved rescuing him.

Erin's birthday was Friday 8/7 and Michele's is today....and Fred's is coming up the end of the month.

Than we're heading to Vegas to see my brothers...invited my lil' sis but she has grandkids that week and can't come with us........but we'll be thinking of her and celebrating all the birthdays.

Got an invite to have breakfast with Erin and her family and than got to see my boys in their football uniforms. That's right, FOOTBALL! Could not believe that those boys (Aiden and Holden) have grown up that much. Aiden came out first and wow, didn't realize how much he had grown, both of them are taller than me now (well that isn't much since I am now shrunk down to 5'1") than Holden came out and I thought that I was looking at Chuck, he was definitely a mini Chuck. Time goes by way too quickly. Erin is there with her 3 little furballs too.

Our relaxing weekend!

Had a great time for the 4th of July. Got together with family to eat BBQ and watch the fireworks.

On Sunday we did our weekly trip to Starbucks for the furkids and us and than went to the Dog Park for the first time with the furry 5. They were off of their leashes and leads for the very first time and guess what...they are my little social butterflies. Where do they get that from? They greeted everyone and played like crazy. Their only experience before has been the backyard, this was with about 15 other furs. They were the hit of the park.
They loved it, gave them about 1 1/2 hrs of freedom and socializing and than the heat started to get to all of us.

It was a great weekend and wished that I had more relaxing ones like that. Got to talk with both of my brothers and that made it even better.

Keeping so very busy with my Yorkie network...Yorkie Kingdom. It is the best place to be ever. It's so safe and people are so kind and wonderful. Wish I had found them last year and wouldn't have had the stress that I had before. Love them...

Still planning on getting in touch with all old and new, but plans for the trip have been changed. With the economy the way it is right now, Fred won't be able to get away from work for quite awhile.

No 2nd honeymoon trip for Freddie and I in the works for now.........but so much more with all my friends and family will happen.

Been too busy

Been so busy since November with so many projects that I finally came to the realization that I needed some down time. I had been planning on a trip with Freddie, still doing State rep for nursing homes, CASA court advocate work, and rescues, but cutting back on some of the other trivial things that I was doing that took all my time and energy away from friends and family. Going to concentrate on the important things now.

So checking out all of my friends and their blogs, twitter, facebook, my space and whatever else you are doing. Trying to keep in contact with all of my peeps and see what they have been up to. Realized that life, thanks to my brother, is far too short to WASTE on the trivial pursuits and things and am concentrating on the really true and honest things in my life now.

So watch for me to come visiting you.

Good Bye Baleigh

I'm sad but oh so very happy.

Our precious little Baleigh is going to live with Sandy (Angie @ the Dog Dish - her grandma) There is absolutely no one I would trust more to give as much love to Baleigh as this little girl needs. She is going to be Sandy's companion, friend and love. The Dog Dish is one of the greatest dog boutique's ever. It's a social gathering place as well as an awesome shopping place.

Both of them needed each other.

Sandy will be surprised with her on Sunday (Mother's Day) by the best grand daughter in the world.

I cried for days but knew these two most definitely needed each other more than her being with us and our five. She needs to be spoiled beyond anything else and Sandy is up to the job plus Angie will have a hand in this 4 month old girl growing and becoming Super Dog. We will still be able to see her at the Dog Dish functions so my heart doesn't ache as much.

I know that we are doing what is best for Baleigh and Sandy.

New Rescue - times are tough for people

Got three new rescues in, in the last 3 weeks. Found home for two of them, but this owner surrender, owner had a foreclosure on her home, bad health and other issues. She could keep the little male but not the female. Meet Baleigh (BayBay)...we have not made a decision yet about her .......... but you look and tell me what you think about her............She is a Morkie (Maltese and Yorkie) and she is 17 weeks old. She's housetrained, sits, lays down and is very social. Does she sound like one of mine? The others love her and Sam has become her new best friend. He's the oldest and he loves her. Bindi used to bug the others because she's still young and now Baleigh is teasing and bugging everyone including Bindi. PAY BACK!

Bindi,my one and only girl, who is surrounded by 4 males, is as rough if not rougher than the boys, plus add the fact that she is the biggest of them all and just by brushing past them can knock them around. I decided we needed to make her more girly and purchased some new harness dresses.........they are beyond girly with rhinestones, lace, bracelet looking chains, bows, flowers, pawprints, etc. so much that she knows she's a pretty girl and different from the 4 boys for awhile...judge for yourself.

OK had a movie for here, but had trouble uploading it so will have to do the pictures. It was a windy warm day for the Irish Paws celebration and we had a ball. Met up with some of our dear friends...Shirl and DJ and laughed the whole time. Awesome and crazy fun people.

We saw all the Westie rescues and the lab rescues and even saw a dog getting ready to do the musical chair tricks...Only had one incident...my 5 furs are always friendly and will submit and want to play with any dog they see but a huge tan greyhound wanted to show who was boss and as her owner was watching she let her greyhound bite poor Bindi's head. Needless to say that greyhound is no longer welcome anyplace we go and Bindi will turn her head and show attitude the next time we go there. That's OK Bindi is still the life of the party. The very top picture is poor Bindi after getting her head hurt! Poor baby!

Shirl has big dogs at home and Ely is the black and white dog that is one of hers, so she got her "little one" fix that day and helped me out with Scooter and Spencer and even Sam. My furs adore Ely, he is a gentle giant. He is 117 lbs. and Scooter, Spencer and Sam total 6 lbs.

My poor 5 crashed after a long day out there and shopping and lunch. It really was an awesome day.

Hey, maybe it is Spring

First,
just to let you know, my brother Tom did make it home. 3 1/2 months gone and back home now (he even forgot where he parked the car at the airport but thanks to technology - flashed the lights and he found it).

It's going to be 82 here today and 84 tomorrow and of course as anyone well knows we now have fire dangers with the winds. This is also the season that my son-in-law, Charles Allison is busiest doing his storm chasing, after all, we are Oklahoma.
Stroller is coming out and since I got my new camera (my 7 year old digital camera crashed while I was at the funeral) lots of pictures of the furry 5 will be coming (if I can figure out how to operate it).

Even have to get them out to be groomed now and ready for their St. Pawtrick Celebration at our favorite dog store. As you remember 120 furs showed up at the last Valentine celebration, so they have to look their best. Lots of new friends for them to meet and hopefully it will be warmer this time.

My lawn man stopped by today to see if I wanted the final leaves picked up before he starts the mowing..........it was 18 yesterday....Mowing? who is he kidding.

We're supposed to have warmer weather during the week and I'm talking about 80's (you could have fooled me) and than colder (60's) again on the weekend.

Got a little nervous, my brother,Tom, who has been in San Francisco since 11/19 (sick, hospital and other health issues) went to Texas to meet up with us for Dan's funeral. My other brother Mike wanted him to stay for a few days with him, just to be brothers and to have family close. Tom's supposed to leave tomorrow. Just saw on the weather channel that there is 5.5 inches of snow in Philadelphia, and that it will be freezing in the morning. It is with that thought that I wanted to dedicate this little graphic to my brother for leaving and heading back to snow and freezing weather.........(we had 80 degree weather during the funeral and time together)

The legacy of Our Clan

What an insight to human nature the funeral was in San Antonio. Found out what an amazing man Dan was.

Got to see families in action that we hadn't seen in years. The amazing part was that as much as they would not like me to say it, there was a tremendous similarity in generations. Each generation still has their own issues, insights and comments but are all alike. As we had once said, we will do things different than our parents, I know the younger generation would like to think that they had a heads up on us, but after listening to their conversations and comments, I don't think that the proverbial acorn falls too far from the tree. History has found itself repeating over and over again in similar manner and as we found will find itself cloned in history from their generation and repeated in that of their children who will say the exact same thing in years to come, but with a little added twist to their version.

Closeness (which is yet to be discovered) is remaining tied to the family no matter what the issue, no matter who it is and honoring Ione and Sam no matter what, that insight comes "not" with just new discovery and excitement at times, but with age and time and wisdom of having been through it. That is something you can not share (because it's not something that anyone want to hear at this time) but it is true pearls of wisdom that is a prophecy that we have lived and will be fulfilled in the next generation.

It was pure deja' vu several times too when I heard their interpretations and perception of things which were just like our generation, just different word. We wanted to do things different than our parents, but we repeated so much and turned out to be them in so many ways. And the true reality is that I know they will and their children and those children will repeat similar history and human nature. It's inherited.

Some do not have siblings close in location and don't have the bond of closeness to them, but have now reached out instead to the cousins and that is such a good thing to see.

We are afterall, the Hozman clan and how can we be any different.

2/22: Update:
HOZY AS SO MANY OF HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY CALLED HIM,
I am so amazed at my nephew how many lives that he touched during his short life and the blogs with the comments that are being posted. He touched so far more lives than I could have ever imagined. What an awesome tribute to an even more fabulous young man.

A friend of Dan's, Erin, from Tecaboca contacted me today and shared this picture and also shared that "he had such a huge impact on so many people". What an awesome testimony to his life.

2/21: Update
We will be going to the memorial services for him Tuesday evening in Kerrville, Tx. and than the funeral on Wednesday afternoon.

2/20 Update:
It's with a very heavy heart that I'm updating you today. I got the call from my brother as we were leaving town to go down to see my nephew that he, Dan, had passed away. He lost the battle that he had tried so hard to fight. There was so much damage and bleeding inside of him that it was too much for him to continue to fight against. My brother and his family and all of my family want to thank each of you for your prayers and heartfelt concern during this time. It helped make it easier to know that Dan was welcomed with open arms into heaven today. We appreciate each of you so much and again thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your prayers and thoughts and kind words.

2/19:UPDATE:
As of today they had cleaned up the infection that was destroying his body, his fever is down and no more seizures as of yesterday morning. He's still on dialysis and the liver has stopped functioning. The pelvis and leg are shattered but he's had so many surgeries they are holding off on that until the infection is under control for awhile longer. They don't know about bleeding on the brain but think that is under control for now. He is not conscious but is holding on. Thank you for the prayers and please keep them coming. Will keep everyone updated.

2/17:
My nephew Dan (31) is not doing well after his car accident on Feb 3. Got the call last night from the family that he may not make it through the night. Keep the prayers going for him. Will keep the posts updated.

Saw flashes of polka dots all day long. A weekend from the pits of hell!

Fred and I had been sick with the flu and couldn't seem to get better and than I started having headaches..........which culminated Friday afternoon in severe tooth pain...and I than realized I had a raging, bulging abscess. Tried all day Friday and Saturday to get into my dentist..........but the inconsideration of the man, the one weekend that my dentist who also specializes in after hours and weekends was out of town in a seminar..........Talk about "Hell Weekend" that's too nice a description of it....Hell couldn't even come close to what I experienced that weekend. By the time Monday came and my appointment...it looked liked I had a grapefruit on the side of my face....

Now my terror and fear was in full gear, blood pressure was heart attack range and I couldn't even be touched...but than total, sweet, complete bliss, all subsided within 20 minutes of taking the chair and breathing in and letting those three little delightful pills slowly melt in my mouth and that sweet gas smell invade my pitiful little body.

I wish I could tell you how well it went and what a good patient I was, but happily Maryann had completely left the building. I can't even tell you of events the rest of that day and even the next day, but by Wednesday....I knew that even though I now totally understood and know why people become drug addicts, I was back to normal(?). I'm here, not totally and will be off for a few more days.......not quite as quick or sharp as I should be and I know that is what you look for in these blogs and comments of mine. So keep me in your thoughts and a few prayers would help and I'll be back in a few days......

The Scooter update

Got pics of the 4 of the 5..........Scooter is doing better.......still has pain but can go 2-3 days before it returns and this time it only last 15 minutes instead of 3-4 hours.
We won a raffle prize and the Monkey Daze t-shirt that Scooter is wearing is part of what we won. The bow Bindi has in her hair is 1 of 3 that we won.....
It's almost impossible to get pics of the furbutts with tongues but I was lucky enough to get one of Scooter(white) and one of Spencer(black). There's also a pic of Sam but not one of Sloan. Will get one later. We keep everyone posted....thanks for caring and sorry it took so long...next Wednesday is 6 weeks.......and back to the vet.

Just got through talking to our daughter (Sarah) in Portland, Oregon, and they've been snowed in with airport, roads and city closings for several days now. This is their first experience with this heavy of snow. They (Sarah and Todd) just moved there a month ago from Texas (job transfer). Quite a change but a brand new experience for them. It's rough that they're not going to be here for the holidays this year........but we're trying our first web cam call on Christmas day.
This is new for us too so we'll let you know how it does. Hugs and Merry Christmas to each of you.

Baby It's Cold Outside

It's 11 degree outside right now. No snow, but lots of black ice, frost, and smokey breath. Not only do I not want to go out (remember I have California blood coursing through my veins still, even after all these years), but none of the furbabies want to go out.

Scooter is about the same...not worse...but not a whole lot better. Time will tell. Getting ready for the family get together.

We'll have two this year. One on Christmas day with all the families...plus, (except for Briana and her family, they'll be at the in-laws) and than Saturday we'll have family presents and get together day with Breezy and the family here for at least 8-10 days. That means....fun, shopping, fun, shopping. I love this time of the year (but not the cold).

I'll say it now...to all my family, friends, and visitors...

Update on Scooter

Just a quick update on the little guy. We're on our 11th day and he's a little better but still on meds. We have him on 2 preds a day and 3 - .5 of pain med. which is every six hours. He does pretty well (although the vet suggested I NOT carry him all the time and that I crate him-I've never crated a furbaby in my life). He doesn't like being in the large crate but even at night I sit it next to me and stick my arm in and pet him. During the day, he is moving around a little but the first thing in the morning when he awakens..........he's stiff, sore and screams! A lot! Once the med is administered within an hour or so it takes over and he's back to Scooter again. We're hoping to get the bulging disc in his neck down and just wait and see. Don't forget him in thoughts and prayers.
Hopefully, He'll be back to his feisty self soon.!!!

Scooter's Sick!

Scooter has been sick since Wednesday (12/10) He had been outside and came back in and suddenly started squeeling. It was awful. The other 4 were as upset as I was and kept coming to him and kissing him. We rushed to the vet and of course, she only guessed that with the symptoms, etc. that he possibly had a cracked rib or had a bad disc in his back. He's so small we decided to wait on all the blood work and x-rays. She put him on pain med and prednizone. The next couple of days were horrible. He'd be OK for a while and than he start squeeling again. Either Bindi, who is 5 lbs and lots bigger, possibly jumped on him to get him to play or with the high winds a small branch could have fallen and hit him, we found one out where he visits in the back. Called a specialist today and he changed the meds around more Pred and less pain meds...hope that works. He finally is sleeping after crying (along with me, it was awful) until 2:30 a.m.
The vet told me that problems are much worse in furbabies that are as small as Scooter or Spencer. They tend to have things happen more severely to them.

Santa and the 5 furkids

Cold and windy on Sunday, but Santa showed up to have his pictures taken with the furkids. And would they co-operate? Just see. Poor Santa had 720 pictures taken that day at our Doggie Play date place...the Dog Dish. They spoil our kids, Halloween, birthdays, Christmas, Easter, etc. Anyway, Santa was sure a trouper to have his picture taken with some of the dogs. They came in all sizes and shapes and pulled his beard, licked his face and other not so nice things, but he held up for it all. This is the 2nd year some of ours have had their pictures taken with him...makes a great card. Happy day until the storm last night and 3 of the 5 were up all night. We had a light dusting of snow but it disappeared almost immediately. In the pictures, a couple kept falling so I helped...starting from your left to right...Bindi, Sam, Sloan, Scooter and Spencer and of course me in a couple of shots.

The day ended up being beautiful. It wasn't too cold for this time of the year and we could eat and than go to the park that's behind Marc's house to work some of the food off. Marc and Crystal had it at their house because this was the first holiday since her mama had passed away. We hadn't planned on being in town for this holiday, we were going to a resort. Crystal called and said that she wanted her "mama" there. We couldn't say no to our "favorite daughter-in-law" (Oops, she's our only daughter-in-law) when she's as awesome as she is. I'm so blessed with all my son-in-laws and my daughter-in-law. No one could ask for better.
They cooked a turkey, Briana cooked a turkey, Erin and Chuck cooked a turkey and we cooked a small 10 lb. turkey. We had a crowd! It was enough that for the first time everyone had a few left-overs to take home. There wasn't a thing missing and each person brought what was assigned to them to bring (including my ex - I taught the family that no matter what he is their dad and will always be their dad, so he is included now in the family functions.) Baby Ella was just taking her first steps (she is now fully walking by herself), Colten loved being with his cousins Aiden, Holden, Austin, Chase, and Zane (Crystal's nephews....we don't count the girls because they're G-I-R-L-S). The girls played quietly together and it was great to watch them all. I even bought cigars for all the guys to enjoy as they played football. Great family day and that's what I'm most thankful for.

LaRae's Surprise Birthday Party

We had the huge surprise birthday celebration for LaRae on Saturday. Steve took her to a ball for his company and it was late when it was over, so he had a planned surprise for her with an overnight at a elegant hotel with an hour long spa treatment the next morning, breakfast and than a movie. He kept her so busy she had no time to check on the kids at home. She thought Erin was sitting, but Briana and her family drove in from Texas (they're staying for the week) and got the decorations going. Chuck of course did the cooking, even brought his BBQ over to do some of it. Everyone arrived and within half an hour Steve brought LaRae in. As you see, she was overwhelmed. She had always wanted an exotic island beach theme and Erin and Briana surprised her with the decorations. Not a detail was missed. The girls had their hula skirts (which Colten had to try) and everything took us to the islands. Austin even got his suit on for his mom. It continued on late into the evening because later it turned out to be game day and Chuck and Steve had planned a party for that. Great food, great friends and great time! It started out at 37 degrees this morning and is up to 42 right now. For most that isn't cold, but remember California blood still courses through my veins. I guess that I passed my feelings toward cold, nasty, achey weather on to the furkids. They can hardly wait for me to open the southern windows in the morning to feel that sun. Yes those are former grandkids chairs that they sunbathe in now. They also have some of their own beds. I won't tell you about the pj's that I have them wear, because than you would think I'm really nuts. They enjoyed this so much and when the sun moved so did they to the back of couches, etc. to see if they could spot anyone trying to go by the house, because they're sure that's how they can protect me.
Those squirrels are really dangerous!

I went to the mall and of course had to go into Build-a-Bear. That's where I get the toys, beds and little houses for my kids. We play a game when I'm chasing them and playing hide and seek...it's called "Where's (insert their name)....? They immediately run into one of the houses and hide. Than we keep calling their name pretending we can't see them. Scooter went into it for the first time and we "couldn't find" him.

Fred's Belated Birthday celebration

Because schedules were so hectic, it was a month later before his girls could get together for a celebration. And WOW, they took us to Bodean's which is an elegant restaurant that specializes in fish. It was so nice to see them again and what a fabulous treat. Sarah had been running around all day at another social event that she had put on and she had driven up from Texas for the weekend. Long weekend, but so appreciated her and Jennifer and the kids.

Fred's Very First 1/2 Marathon

Fred did his very first 1/2 marathon on Sunday. He had projected that he would do it in 2:15 which was the average for his age and pace group...he did it in 1:57. So proud of him. I didn't want him to do it because I was worried about him. He's done the annual Tulsa Run for 25 years (9.3 miles. Beat his former record of 1:28 by 7 minutes 1:21) but this was a hilly 12.1 miles. He's moving a little slow last night and today but it was worth it.
Had to awaken him 1/2 hr. earlier that morning because the pilot on our heater had blown out which made it 42 outside and almost inside. Needless to say, because of the California blood still coursing through my veins, I still don't like the cold. Now Oklahoma does not have severe fall or winters, but cold is cold. That was prefaced to tell you that I did not go...and because of that, no pictures but I will post from his Tulsa Run last month. He's just as cute in that as he was yesterday. He's so proud of himself.

Doggie Play dates

We had a Puppy Play Day yesterday in the afternoon. It was a gorgeous day and perfect for visiting and walking. I decided to only take 3 of the 5. Bindi and Sam who I didn't take pouted all evening and showed me they were upset. A few dehydrated "Cod" treats, their favorite, put them in a better mood. Scooter, Spencer, and Sloan and I went in their new double stroller that normally carries all five of them, to meet their new girlfriend. She's younger but taller than them (they're like their human uncles, they like taller women). We met at the Dog Dish, our favorite store with treats, clothes and everything a Furbaby could want. It ended up taking up 2 1/2 hrs. just to go a couple of blocks. That always happens because everyone comes out of the shops or meets us walking and they have to look at the babies. Mia and her owner, Rita, were with us and she has one blue eye and one dark. She's a beautiful Pom and very elite for a 10 month old and just a little spoiled (but mine aren't(?)). Great day and did they sleep when they got home. We walk every day but only do the play dates once a week because schedules are so busy. Fun day. Saturday they are going to a Paw Painting get-together. We will only socialize because with 5 it's too messy. They get 15 mins. to paint a picture and have it framed. Always brings out lots of people. Their Santa picture party is coming up next month and they love Santa. It's fun to see him try to hold all of them and get all of them in the picture. Watch for those.

I think my daughter is trying to keep up with me in the number of babies that she has. Erin and Chuck adopted the cutest little girl yesterday.
They have named her SMOKEE and she is as cute as can be.
Visiting hours will be this weekend.
She's only 3 months old and Mama had to go out of town last night, so she got to sleep with her daddy. He says that she is as good as can be and seems to be happy all the time.

These are the most current pictures of our little chunky monkey! She looks just like her mama Crystal. She is definitely daddy's girl (as is Madison) and Jadon is the spitting image of daddy Marc when he was young. Baby Ella is growing so fast that in a month she'll be walking and that little extra padding that she has now will all be gone. She loves to hug and kiss and when I hold her she rubs her hands all on my cheek and lets me snuggle with her. Love that baby.

Briana finally downloaded some of her pictures and I was able to take and copy a lot of them. If I showed all of them, there would be no room left, so I'll make the pics smaller and show as many as I can. I get to see Colten 5 days a week on the webcam from his school and that gives me my "Colten" fix. He's so far away but that brings him a little closer. He's starting to change in his looks a little. I used to think that he looked like his daddy, but the funny thing is now I think he looks a lot like Marc (uh uh, don't get any ideas now). Anyway, he's Colten and that's all that is important.

It turned out to be just a lazy, cold day with company coming to see the furbabies and not us yesterday. Sam and Sloan kept watching out the window because neighbors were raking leaves and their dogs were racing up and down the street. Sam and Sloan wanted to make sure no one would get us. They were truly on guard. Bindi was protecting Scooter and Spencer in the house and kept falling asleep. Love lazy days.

Jadon's last soccer game

Last game and they won!!! Jadon is the goalie and the score was 1-0! Jadon really surprised all of us by wanting to play soccer but he really found his spot. He is fabulous goalie. Mama Dawn had worked with him and he chose that position because she had played soccer in high school. Marc gets him every weekend so he was at all the games cheering him on. We missed only one game. We were good Bubbe and Papa Fred through the heat, rain and yesterday 36 degree cold. What love we have. Daddy Marc and Jadon got silly they were so excited and later they all went out and celebrated.

Ok, I was with the boys, Aiden and Holden for six hours on Friday until their other grandma (Mimi) got there. Aiden read to me the whole time and Holden was Holden. Erin and Chuck had planned a romantic getaway. Enough said. Mimi came over with Nickie her little Chi and got all of them to hold still for a moment. Loved my time with those boys.
